Project-Based Middle School
Our students are conscious learners who are aware of themselves, their world, and the climate, as individuals and as a community.

Our students focus on developing their own identities as individuals and an understanding of who they are as Americans in a global world, humans in a diverse ecosystem, and critical questioners in an ever changing environment.
They understand their own mental and physical health as well as how to become a contributor as they influence action in the world around them.

What does it look like in practice?
Students have advisory where they grapple with ethical questions of our time, develop self awareness and self management skills, play with differing identities as they understand social groups, and create their own mind maps of interests and inquiry to provide a compass for their individual projects and apprenticeships.
Each year includes service work, apprenticeships, individual projects, collaborative projects, field trips, and personal growth.
Clubs and activities include drama, music, robotics, math circles, and more.
Students develop technological competency in our innovation lab, STEAM classes and their own projects.
Our Learning coaches work with students on their learning goals and development of their personal and collaborative projects.
Educators ensure that students are learning the concepts that are necessary in middle school through educator developed curriculum and content as well as ensuring breadth of concepts and knowledge in student led projects.
