The Up Academy Robotics Team will be holding a pre-season camp 8/5/24 - 8/16/24. This camp is for rising 1st-8th graders who are interested in robotics at a rookie or competitive level.
Both weeks are offered to students at the competitive level.
Rookies offered for the week of 8/12.
Students will spend time learning about the new VEX IQ Challenge game, developing strategy, and building community. Campers will engage in all aspects of robotics including engineering, coding, documenting, strategy, and teamwork. No prior robotics experience is required!
Please note that there are limited spots and current UP Academy students will receive priority spots.
9AM to 3PM and will cost $650 per week. Campers will be expected to bring their own lunch and snack. There are no refunds.

This is a great opportunity for beginning Spanish speakers to learn new vocabulary through story! Each day we will read short “cuentos en español” (stories in Spanish) and reflect on our reading with artwork and writing! This week we will explore four different forms of creative writing: poetry, short stories, plays, and comics. Students will learn about each form and try their hand at their own creations. We will experiment with different creative writing apps as well as illustrations. On the fifth day, each student will get to choose their favorite piece, complete it, and present it to the group. Materials needed: computer/tablet access, paper and pencil, supplies to draw and color with.

We will explore robotics, art, science, have a daily engineering challenge, and maybe even make a movie! Our daily structure depends on the interests of our kids. With an endless amount of imagination, we might build a wiggle bot robot one day and a volcano the next! Sure to be the best camp of the summer!
